Technics M245X Exposed. (Cont.)

Screws out and cover taken off looking at the CASSETTE UNIT.

Arrows showing the various screws that had to be removed to completely remove the sub frame of the cassette section from the main unit. NOTE the arrows pointing to the various CONNECTORS and in particular those really cheap and nasty wire cable setups.

Once the screws are removed AND the cables disconnected the unit can be pulled towards the back of the main unit and removed. HOWEVER be careful not to pull the cable tucked over the metal foot of the right side piece of chassis as it becomes trapped by it.

Bloody aweful connectors and NOT I should add JUST used on the cassette unit. There are similar
connectors to be found on the main board !
They’re a nightmare in the making if you’re not PATIENT and CAREFUL !
Use a decent pair of tweezers or thin nose PLIERS to STRAIGHTEN the wire ends.

WATCH the cables, hidden from view that can cause problems! If the Cassette CHASSIS doesn’t come out with some ease and CARE on your part then look closer to find out WHY!

In this instance the cable was trapping the metal flange on the base of the Cassette deck main chassis. I shoved it out of the way and the problem was solved.

REMEMBER to make NOTES as you go along! HELPS ! PLUS as I do TAKE PICS with a digital camera. Then if you FORGET where a cable goes or et you’ll know ! DON’T REMOVE components, plugs, screws et that are NOT required to be removed for the replacement of the belts !!

Regardless of how UNSKILLED or SKILLED YOU are - I will NOT be in any way shape or form be held responsible for anyone following my repairs ! YOU do so at your OWN RISK!
Likewise ANY links to webs other than this re purchasing spares regarding quality, guarantees and similar that are shown; they’re for information only, it’s up to YOU to determine if you wish to use their services or buy their products et !
